Indicator Constraints

This table is used within the Network Optimization experiment only. It uses the existing Linear Ranges (which set conditions for Custom Constraints, Product flows, Product storages, and Production Constraints) to define the If and Then statements in the corresponding columns.

Column Description

If

Specify the condition from the list of linear ranges defined in the Linear Ranges table.

Then

Specify the condition (from the list of linear ranges defined in the Linear Ranges table) that will be processed if the condition specified in the If column is true.

Inclusion Type

Defines the status of the current constraint.

  • Include — if this status is set, the constraint will be included into the supply chain configuration.
  • Exclude — if set, the constraint will be excluded from the supply chain configuration. If selected, the table record will be grayed out to denote the current inclusion type. The table record stays editable.

To define indicator constraint

  1. In the If column cell select the required condition (defined in the Linear Ranges table).
  2. In the Then column cell select the required condition (defined in the Linear Ranges table).

The condition of the Then statement column will be processed only if the statement from the If column is true (stays within the specified ranges).
